A French bulldog stolen in Vancouver has been located in Abbotsford.

A French bulldog stolen last week in Vancouver has been located in Abbotsford by animal control.

Vancouver Police Department said Wednesday morning that after six days the dog, named Chloe, has been reunited with her owner.

Police say that last Thursday around 6:45 p.m., a woman went into the Fall Tattooing Shop located at 644 Seymour St. and made off with the 10-month-old pup. The woman was captured on surveillance video running from the store. Witnesses reported seeing her flee in a car that was waiting in front of the shop.

Police stated that following the alleged dog napping, social media lit up with stories about the theft and police received numerous calls identifying potential suspects.

The subsequent police investigation revealed that Chloe’s theft possibly stems from a dispute between an employee at the tattoo shop and the dog’s original owner.

Police said that Tuesday afternoon, Chloe was found roaming a residential neighbourhood in Abbotsford by Fraser Valley Regional District Animal Control. This morning (April 23), Chloe is being reunited with her owner and police are working to retrace Chloe’s steps following her escape from captors.

The investigation continues.
