A cougar has been spotted in Abbotsford for the second time in 10 days.

A cougar has been spotted in Abbotsford for the second time in 10 days.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the animal was spotted just before midnight on Thursday in the area of Cassiar Avenue and McKee Road by a man who had let his dog out into the unfenced backyard of his home.

The property backs onto a green space.

This is in a different area of Abbotsford from the first sighting, which occurred Nov. 15. A woman in an apartment building at the corner of Tims Street and George Ferguson Way reported seeing a cougar descend from a tree on the property.

The cat in that report was also not seen again in the area.
