Surveillance footage of a suspect in two arsons at Ellwood Centre on July 21 and July 22.

Police believe the same man is responsible for a pair of dumpster fires at an Abbotsford business last week.

Fire crews and police were called to a fire in a dumpster at the Ellwood Centre, in the 31200 block of Maclure Road, on July 21 at 2:15 p.m. The blaze was quickly extinguished, and surveillance video showed a young man in his 20s, wearing a pink shirt and riding a skateboard, was in the area at the same time the fire began.

Less than 24 hours later, on July 22 at 7:30 a.m., another fire was reported at the same location.

A review of surveillance video showed what appears to be the same suspect in the area. The man, is described as white, in his 20s with slim build. In the surveillance video, he appears to still be wearing the same clothing and is again riding a skateboard.

Police hope a member of the public will recognize the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225, text 222973, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
