A fire in an apartment building on George Ferguson Way drew a quick response from emergency crews Wednesday evening.
Firefighters rushed to the building - at the intersection of McCallum Road and George Ferguson - just after 8 p.m.
The occupants of the building, along with several pets, were evacuated, but there were no immediate signs of any injuries.
Nine engines and at least 20 firefighters were on scene and appeared to quickly get the fire under control.
George Ferguson Way remained closed as of 8:45 p.m.
Looks like the fire is out. Fan already in doorway, clearing what looks to be thick smoke throughout halls. GFW completely closed here. pic.twitter.com/9OM1VXpoxW
