Two women were taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries on Friday following a reported home invasion.
No details have been released on the extent of the injuries incurred by the women, ages 38 and 64.
The incident took place at about 10:30 a.m. at a home in the 2600 block of Victoria Street, just north of Union Avenue.
Const. Ian MacDonald said on Monday that police are still trying to piece together all the details and are continuing to interview witnesses and examine evidence video footage, as well as evidence obtained at the scene.
MacDonald said it is unclear how many suspects invaded the home, but witnesses have indicated there were “multiple.”
He said home invasions are typically targeted incidents, although there have been circumstances where the suspects invaded the wrong home.
MacDonald did not know whether that was the case in this incident. He said the home in question does not have a significant history with police.
The major crime unit is leading the investigation and is being assisted by forensic identification unit members and patrol resources.
