Before you shoot home video in public with violent themes and make-believe guns, let the neighours and even police know.

That's what two Abbotsford teens and a young man learned Sunday afternoon at about 1 p.m. after they alarmed a neighbourhood as they filmed a gun-toting man, covered in blood, kicking in a door in a condo complex on Cannon Avenue in central Abbotsford.

Neighbours called police, who responded with heavily armed officers ready for a serious situation.

Police cordoned off the area and brought in a dog unit. Officers then called out the occupants of the condo, who turned out to be two teens and a 25-year-old man filming a home movie.

Abbotsford Police recommend if you are going to do something like this, using prop guns and real-life scenarios, that you let your neighbors know and perhaps even give police a call.
