New Year's Eve revellers this year were better behaved than they were in 2012, but there's still some work to do, says Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald.
He said about a dozen people were caught drinking and driving on Monday night in Abbotsford, either by patrol officers pulling them over or while they were going through a CounterAttack roadblock.
These included 24-hour suspensions and immediate roadside prohibitions.
MacDonald didn't have exact figures, but said the numbers were down from 2012.
"We're hoping that people are finally starting to get (the messages about drinking and driving)," he said, adding that there is still room for improvement.
