An RCMP patrol car ended up flipped on its side Wednesday morning after a collision with another vehicle on Highway 1 in Abbotsford.


A crash involving an RCMP freeway patrol member took place this morning on Highway 1 in Abbotsford.

The incident occurred just after 6 a.m. in the eastbound lanes at McDermott Road in Abbotsford between the patrol car and another vehicle.

The force of the crash flipped the police car, which landed in the ditch on the south side of Highway 1, while the other vehicle ended up the median.

There were no reported injuries.

Eastbound traffic was closed for a few hours and was funneled off the freeway onto Cole Road, causing heavy delays in the area. DriveBC reported at about 12:30 p.m. that the scene had been cleared and all lanes were open.
