An Abbotsford man was the victim of a pepper spray attack on Monday evening and was treated on scene.

Police received calls just before 6 p.m. from tenants of an apartment building in the 33400 block of Bourquin Place, saying they could smell a strong odour. Some identified it as pepper spray.

Police, fire and ambulance personnel arrived and traced the material to a second-floor suite. The 49-year-old occupant said two people unknown to him came to his door, pepper-sprayed him and stole prescription drugs from his suite.

Nobody else in the building was harmed.
