Pedestrian seriously injured after being struck by pickup truck in Abbotsford

Collision takes place early Friday morning on Marshall Road

A pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a pickup truck early this morning (Friday) in Abbotsford.

The pedestrian, a 21-year-old man, was struck by the Mazda truck just before 3 a.m. in the 33400 block of Marshall Road.

The man was taken to hospital, where police say he is being treated for “significant injuries.”

Const. Ian MacDonald of the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) said the 43-year-old female driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and was cooperative with investigators.

APD patrol officers, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Services personnel and BC Ambulance staff were all on the scene.

The road was closed for a period while APD collision reconstructionists were on the scene.
