A man and a woman each charged in relation to a stabbing that took place in Abbotsford last August have pleaded guilty.
Michael Allan Froese, 29, pleaded guilty on Monday (April 7) in Abbotsford provincial court to assault causing bodily harm, while Nicole Carlson, 37, pleaded guilty to assault.
They are scheduled for a sentencing hearing on May 29.
Police were called to the 33500 block of Switzer Avenue – off McCallum Road – on Aug. 10.
When they arrived, they found a 33-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries, but survived.
Froese and Carlson were arrested later that day.
Froese previously served time for the fatal stabbing of Paul Denis – also known as Paulie Pockets – during an altercation on Sept. 2, 2009 at a home on Hopedale Crescent.
He pleaded guilty and in August 2010 was sentenced to four years for manslaughter. Froese was released in September 2012, after credit for time served was taken into account.
Carlson has a 2010 conviction on two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. She was sentenced to a two-month prison term.
