After suffering a stroke in mid-December, Abbotsford MP Ed Fast is in a full-time rehabilitation program and planning on a return to work.

Fast’s recovery is “going well,” according to staff member Brad Vis.

He added that Fast “is “looking forward to getting back to work as soon as possible.”

Fast suffered a stroke on Dec. 10 at his Abbotsford home. He was reported to be in stable condition following the incident. A statement issued three days later predicted a full recovery.

On Dec. 23, Fast posted an update on his Facebook page, stating that he is working on his recovery at Port Moody’s Eagle Ridge Hospital.

“Many of you have been asking for an update on my condition since my stroke,” he wrote.

“I’m pleased to say that, thanks to your support and prayers, I am now fully engaged in an intensive rehab program at Eagle Ridge Hospital. My family has been fully engaged in my recovery for which I am immensely grateful. I’m looking forward to spending the Christmas weekend at home. God is good and we wish all of you a very blessed Christmas.”
