A man charged earlier this year after high school students reported hearing shots fired in a residential neighbourhood is in trouble with the law again.
Narinder Gill, 20, was charged last week with unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and extortion.
Const. Ian MacDonald said police received a call on Sept. 11 at about 7:30 p.m. from an 18-year-old male who alleged he had been held in a vehicle and threatened over a debt that he owed. The amount of the money was in dispute, MacDonald said.
Gill was charged the following day and next appears in court Thursday for a bail hearing.
He was also charged in April of this year with assault with a weapon, using an imitation firearm and two counts of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose after police received a report of shots being fired from a car in the area of Blueridge Drive and Townline Road.
Five neighbouring schools were locked down for about an hour while police investigated. Gill was charged the following day. His next appearance on that matter is also slated for Thursday.
And in late July, Gill was found guilty of assault causing bodily harm from an incident that occurred Oct. 21, 2010 in which he used a 2 X 4 to attack a man at Ellwood Park with whom he had been in a previous altercation.
A pre-sentence report is scheduled to be presented in Abbotsford provincial court on Oct. 13.
