Gas leak leads police to discover drugs, weapons in local home

Mission RCMP has seized a large amount of drugs and weapons from a local home.

Shortly after noon on Nov. 27, the RCMP were called to a report of a broken gas line near the 11,000 block of Yeo Street. The damage was the result of an illegal diversion for stealing gas.

RCMP investigators held the property until later that evening when a warrant was executed.

Police located and seized marijuana plants, 180 pounds of dried marijuana, marijuana derivatives, one kilogram of shatter, over four kilograms of hash, 13 firearms, and $10,000 in cash.

Two vehicles and two motorcycles were also seized as proceeds of crime.

“Residential drug operations are always a significant concern to public safety; especially in operations of clandestine production techniques making derivatives such as shatter, where highly volatile substances like butane are used,” said Mission RCMP Const. James Mason.

The investigation is still on going as no one has been charged in connection to this operation.
