Missing man’s body recovered from Fraser River

Abbotsford's Baljinder Sahota first went missing on July 11.

The body of Baljinder Sahota has been recovered from the Fraser River. It was found yesterday (July 22).

The Abbotsford Police Department’s Major Crime detectives do not suspect foul play in Sahota’s death

The ADP wishes to extend its sincere condolences to his family and friends as they deal with this tragedy. The family has requested that their privacy be respected at this time.

Sahota left his family home on Thursday, July 11 around noon and had not been in contact with any family or friends since. At the time, police said it was unusual that he did not bring identification, money or belongings with him.

On July 12, the man’s 1994 black Honda Civic was located in a parking lot at Harbour Avenue and Bridge Street in Mission and the search was expanded to include the Fraser River.
