Units from both the RCMP and Surrey Police Service, as well as the Emergency Response Team, attended, and one man was found deceased inside the residence, “of what appeared to be self-inflicted injuries,” the release states.

The IIO was notified shortly after the death, and initial investigative steps will seek to determine what role, if any, police actions or inactions may have played in it.
