One person was killed when a stolen pickup crashed on Wells Line Road Tuesday morning.

A rollover crash in a stolen vehicle resulted in a fatality early this morning (Tuesday) in Abbotsford.

Police received calls at 4:24 a.m. reporting the single-vehicle crash in the area of Wells Line and Smith Line roads on Sumas Prairie.

When police and other first responders arrived on the scene, they discovered a rolled-over 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup. The vehicle had been travelling west on Wells Line Road, veered off the road and through a fence, and came to a rest in the front yard of a home.

Two men were still in the vehicle, and one of them, believed to be a passenger in the back seat, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The other man in the vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries. A 14-year-old girl who had been in the vehicle was found a short distance from the scene and was also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A third male was located in a nearby outbuilding and was not seriously injured.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the Toyota Tacoma has been confirmed as being stolen from central Abbotsford sometime on Sunday.

He said police are still confirming other details, including who was driving at the time and what caused the crash. Possible charges could result.

Police have identified two of the three men as being ages 19 and 29.

MacDonald said the crash was "pretty catastrophic."

"It's amazing we don't have four deaths," he said.

More information will be released as it becomes available.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225, text abbypd (222973) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
