Man airlifted after explosion in Abbotsford

An man was airlifted to hospital after the vehicle he was working on exploded.


A 61-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after the vehicle he was working on exploded Saturday night in Abbotsford.

The incident occurred in the 34000 block of Fourth Avenue at about 5:45 p.m. Const. Ian MacDonald said the man was changing the refrigerant in his van's cooling system when the explosion occurred.

He was reported to be severely burned, but was conscious as he was loaded into the ambulance.
