Abbotsford's Ledgeview Golf Club could receive as much as $115,000 worth of municipal funding.
On Monday, council is scheduled to debate a report from city manager Frank Pizzuto which recommends funding of $50,000 for course capital improvements and $65,000 worth of rent forgiveness.
At the end of 2011, representatives from the Ledgeview Golf Society approached council and requested $250,000 in funding.
After two poor financial years (2010 and 2011) the society as begun to to struggle. It marked the first time funding had ever been sought by the group.
The Ledgeview Golf Course and its facilities are owned by the city. The not-for-profit society has run the course for Abbotsford since 1980 and its current agreement is up in 2015.
Staff has been working with the society to address concerns, including preparing an expression of interest for the potential replacement of several outdated facilities on the property.
The staff report also indicates that Ledgeview is currently on budget for the first four months of 2012.
A funding decision is expected Monday.
