Hundreds of Abbotsford residents came together for a "March Against Monsanto" on Saturday morning.
The event was part of a global grassroots initiative which included marches on six continents, in 36 countries and in over 250 cities.
Monsanto, a biotechnology corporation which produces genetically modified crop seeds, is at the centre of the genetically modified organisms (GMO) debate. Critics say GMOs can lead to serious health conditions and harm the environment.
The local march began at Mill Lake and went down South Fraser Way to City Hall and back again.
