A female sex offender, released from prison last month, is back in custody.

Audrey Elizabeth Jean Black, 34, was released under conditions that she not attend any public park, playground, recreation centre or other place where children were expected to be.

On June 16, 2011 the Abbotsford Police Department issued a public notification concerning Black, who had elected to live in the city of Abbotsford.

Yesterday (Monday) afternoon a concerned citizen contacted Abbotsford Police after seeing a woman she thought was Black, in the area of Mill Lake Park.

Minutes later an Abbotsford Police Department Patrol Division officer located Black and arrested her.

In a press release, the police said “community involvement is an integral part of making the city safer. We commend the observations and actions of this citizen in assisting the APD in our efforts to make Abbotsford the safest city in British Columbia.”
