Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service (AFRS) was called to cooler unit on fire at Ritchie Smith Feeds just before 1 a.m. today (Friday).
Crews who arrived on scene – at 33777 Enterprise Ave. – were met by staff who had put water on the area of concern.
Crews found light smoke in the area of some of the equipment, as well as some smoldering grain product.
AFRS worked with staff to ensure the fire was contained and extinguished.
AFRS remained on site until the hopper was cleaned out and all issues or risks were mitigated.
A total of nine AFRS units responded to the call.
