A cyclist was struck and killed by a truck just after 9 a.m. this morning at the corner of Bourquin Crescent and Mill Lake Road.

The identity of the 72-year-old male cyclist has not been released at this time. When police arrived at approximately 9:15 a.m. they performed CPR on the victim, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the five-ton truck remained on the scene. Police say alcohol and speed do not appear to have been factors. The driver is shaken up, and being treated by paramedics.

The bus loop at that location was shut down briefly, while the coroner and crash investigators attended the scene.

The bus loop is now back in operation, and has been moved into the parking lot of Sevenoaks Shopping Centre.
