The City of Abbotsford has activated an emergency operations centre (EOC) due to heavy rain and flooding.
A reception centre for anyone who has been evacuated or can’t return home has been set up at Abbotsford Recreation Centre, 2499 McMillan Rd.
The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is also involved in the EOC and says that “various flooding and small mudslides” have occurred in the city.
All other city resources are also involved, including Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service.
The public is asked to call 911 for any flooding or mudslide emergencies.
The APD says to monitor social media for further updates.
Areas that the APD says have had small mudslides/washouts include 12 properties on Eagle Mountain, two properties on Glen Mountain, and 40 to 50 properties on Dawson Road.
Road closures posted by APD as of 9:45 p.m. are at:

• Clayburn Road between Highway 11 and Wright
• Whatcom Road between Westview and Sandringham Drive
• Briarwood Place
• Cranberry Court
• Doneagle Place
• Lonzo and Vedder Way
• Mckee Road at Clayburn Crescent east of Auguston
• South Fraser Way at Fishtrap Creek
• Bates and Ohland area
• Majuba Hill across Railway

Meanwhile, three separate mudslides continue to close the Coquihalla Highway in both directions between Hope and Merritt, Highway 1 in both directions about nine kilometres north of Yale, and Highway 1 near Popkum.
A rainfall warning remains in place, with another 40 to 50 mm expected Sunday night (Nov. 14) in Abbotsford.
Monday’s forecast calls for another 15 to 25 mm of rain, ending in the early afternoon.
