Boy airlifted after longboarding accident

Twelve-year-old was wearing a helmet at the time of crash in Abbotsford.

A 12-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital on Sunday afternoon after an accident on his longboard.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the boy was longboarding with a friend just after 3 p.m. on Winson Road (near the Canada-U.S. border) when he wiped out.

Although he was wearing a helmet, he was temporarily unconscious and was airlifted to hospital as a precautionary measure, MacDonald said.
