One of two Abbotsford brothers participating in the Canadian Plowing Champions over the weekend placed third in his category.
Andrew Graham, 18, competed in the "junior conventional plowing" and finished behind Kevin Haney and Carrie Davenport, both of Ontario, who took first and second spots respectively.
Andrew's brother, Philip, 22, didn't place in the top three in his category, "senior conventional."
Top spot went to Paul Dodds of Ontario, who now represents Canada in the worlds in France in 2014. Gene Sache of Rosedale placed second.
In the "senior reversible" category, Bob Campsall of Ontario took top spot, followed by Francis Sache of Rosedale. Campsall will also compete at the worlds.
A competition among mayors of local communities was held Saturday and was won by Abbotsford Mayor Bruce Banman, followed by Langley Mayor Jack Froese.
The Graham brothers were among 16 competitors from across the country that competed in the nationals, after having won their categories at the provincial level.
The Canadian Plowing Championships ran Wednesday to Sunday at Rose Gate Dairy Farms in Abbotsford.
