Abbotsford firefighters were able to halt a grass fire from spreading to a nearby forested area by the Discovery Trail in Abbotsford’s west side Friday evening.
The Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service was able to take quick action and get a handle on the flames just before 6 p.m. Friday after they were called to a report of a forest fire along the trail.
Upon arrival, crews found an area of grass and shrub on fire, moving in the direction of a forested area.
The area has had a number of grass fires over the years.
