Crews from Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service (AFRS) were called out to a large brush fire early this morning (Saturday).
The fire broke out at about 4:30 a.m. off a trail in a heavily wooded area in the vicinity of Gladwin and Maclure roads.
Due to the dry conditions, the fire was rapidly spreading up the hillside, but crews were able to quickly bring it under control.
Firefighters stayed on the scene for several hours to put out hot spots.
The cause of the fire is not known, but AFRS is reminding people that a total fire ban is in effect.
