This is our third and final feature for this month’s Style Influencers. Today we are pleased to highlight an established business – Lanka Jewels, Mission.

Over the past 36 years, the family behind Lanka Jewels in Mission – an independent jewelry store that specializes in custom design – has always stayed true to what has made them a success: quality product and customer service.

When customers walk into Lanka Jewels, they can expect to be greeted warmly. Then, they may catch a glimpse of the in-store master goldsmith working away, or notice the variety of Citizen, Bulova, and Wittnauer watches, or large selection of jewelry on display.

“We carry something for everyone,” says Lanka’s manager, Naomi Selvaraja-Fossett. “We also try and keep up with all the jewelry trends … stackable rings, big chunky watches, layering necklaces, and lots of bracelets.”

Some of the brands Lanka offers include ELLE, Reign and Pyrrha, Noam Carver, and Carlex – a luxury line that is considered the Cadillac of men’s wedding bands. They also carry their own line, Lanka Jewels, which Selvaraja-Fossett describes as wearable art made with quality and integrity.

“We don’t just bring anything into our store. We want to know about the products that we sell and promote,” she says. “I believe a quality brand is unique, well-made, ethical ,and able to stay ahead of the curve. A strong brand is constantly coming up with new styles, then adapting before they become ‘dated.’ ”

Beyond how a piece of jewellery is made, it’s about how it makes the person wearing it feel, and Lanka Jewels will help make sure you shine as bright as a diamond.

Lanka Jewels is located at The Junction in Mission. For more information, visit lankajewels.ca.

the best accessory

Jewelry can take any outfit from day to night, just by changing a few simple things. Maybe replace your sapphire stud earrings that you wore to the office, for some diamond hoops for a dinner out with your friends. It’s also a timeless accessory. Maybe you’ve inherited your Grandma’s engagement ring and it’s not quite your style. We can take your Grandma’s ring and make it into something that you will enjoy, but still have the sentiment of your family heirloom.
