While you browse your favourite Sevenoaks Shopping Centre shops for back-to-school deals, or a few new pieces to shift your work wardrobe into Fall, stop by the Food Court for some unexpected and tasty treasures!

A recent visit to the Sevenoaks Food Court, located near the mall’s North Entrance, yielded a treasure trove of gems, which we paired together post-shop for a picnic lunch at nearby Mill Lake Park.

If you haven’t visited Sevenoaks Shopping Centre recently, here’s a taste of what you’ve been missing:

  1. The first stop along our treasure hunt was for beverages. We found a rejuvenating mug of the “Bold and Beautiful blend” at Mukasi Coffee, and for our younger shoppers we picked up a refreshing Pineapple Slush with Cheesy Sweet Cream at Bubble Tasty Tea (next to Zumiez). You can also check out a huge variety of bubble tea and juices at Freshly Squeezed Bubble Tea, including watermelon, mango, or pomegranate smoothies.
  2. Of course, shopping can’t be sustained on coffee and smoothies alone! For our main course, we had a tasty, hot Freshslice Pizza to share and a fresh Subway sandwich (check out their signature grilled rice wraps or Subway Series options too). If you prefer something with an international flavour, they have you covered with Famous Wok, Ono’s of Japan and Opa! Of Greece, which all serve up delicious treasures of their own. Plus, there is always comfort food – perfect for the shorter, cooler days that are coming – from New York Fries and A&W.
  3. Our journey continued to the state-f-the-art Jar Bar, a cake vending machine, serving up delectable cakes in a jar like their popular Red Velvet, Oreo Cheesecake, or Tropical Coconut. Another popular option is a visit to Purdy’s Chocolatier for a scoop of their amazing ice cream or an assortment of chocolates, or cashew or peanut brittle. If cool vintage candies are what you crave, find your favourites at Gotta Be Candy (located next to London Drugs).
  4. Prefer to keep your fare plant-based? Local vegans are loving the “Booja Booja” vegan and gourmet selection of organic chocolates from Little Vegan Treats (vending machine located across Mukasi Coffee), or snack on some of their Ka-Pop Cheddar Puffs.

Don’t forget many of your favourite Food Court vendors can deliver to you through Doordash, Uber Eats, and Skip the Dishes, or you can order for pick-up!

Finish your treasure hunt with a picnic!

With our sandwiches and pizza in hand, along with our sweet teats and drinks, it was time to enjoy a late summer stroll and a picnic at Sevenoaks’ neighbor: the beautiful Mill Lake Park, famous for its nesting eagles, bird watching and views of Mt. Baker.

Mill Lake Park is a quick walk across the parking lot from the Gladwin side of Sevenoaks, which leads directly into the park. The park’s paved trail is ideal for all fitness and mobility levels. We followed the path to a picnic table and enjoyed our Sevenoaks Food Court treats amid nature in the heart of the city.
