Whether your daughter knows all the rules of hockey or has never even skated before, the Abbotsford Female Hockey Association is providing the opportunity for young girls of all abilities to discover and grow their love for the game.
“Our Learn to Play Program is a no-risk opportunity for girls of any age or background to try hockey,” Abbotsford Female Hockey Association president Jason Devries says. “We, as an organization, do our best to remove every possible barrier that could keep someone from giving hockey a chance.”
There are two sessions: March 18 to 21 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and April 15 to 18 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The $25 fee includes all four days, but if the participant registers for the association that fee will be credited back to the account to continue the child’s development.

Coaches from Beaudies Warrior Academy of Hockey, Ringette and Skating will foster the participants potential and teach them through their wealth of experience.
The association recognizes that lack of equipment could be be an issue, so they are going to provide everything necessary (if needed). However, if participants can borrow equipment from a friend, that would be ideal.
The program in previous years has made an impact on families in Abbotsford, and it hopes to continue to do the same.
“The Learn to Play Program was one of the best things that could’ve happened to our family,” hockey parent Jon Morrison says. “With three daughters in hockey now, we credit Jason’s leadership with this program for getting it all started. I can’t imagine our family now without hockey and the memories being made at the rink. Our girls have lifelong friends, a passion to compete and a growing confidence that is fun to watch.”
Space is limited, so it is encouraged that those interested visit abbotsfordfemalehockey.com to register.
