A unique new concept opened its doors in Abbotsford on Friday (March 1).

Foxglove Floral Cafe combines a coffee shop with a full-service florist.

The new establishment can be found in the Rail District, which is located in downtown Abbotsford at Unit 102, 2724 Montrose Ave.

Foxglove was founded by locals Andrea McAllister and Lauren Quezada. According to the Foxglove website, McAllister had been working with flowers out of her home and knew she was ready to move into a brick and mortar shop. She loved the idea of blending floral design with a cafe and the dream began to grow.

A mutual friend then connected McAllister with Quezada, who had been working as registered nurse and was seeking a career change, and Foxglove was created.

The location was chosen due to the patio and its bright feel. The pair want Foxglove to transform into a community hub and plan to host workshops and events.

They serve Phil & Sebastian Coffee and will also offer a seasonal food menu. For the floral portion of the cafe, Foxglove offers local pickup for custom orders, delivery and wedding flowers.

The grand opening occurred on Friday and regular hours started on Tuesday (March 5). Foxglove will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m from Tuesday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
