Driver taken into custody by police; pedestrians transported to hospital with minor injuries

Two people were transported to hospital in Abbotsford on Wednesday (Feb. 14) after they were allegedly intentionally struck by a vehicle.

According to a statement from the Abbotsford Police Department, both victims suffered minor injuries and are in stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested.

APD officers responded to the collision at 2:44 p.m. in the 31000 block of Carlsrue Avenue in central Abbotsford. Police say the two victims claimed they were hit by the vehicle following a “disturbance.”

“The driver remained at the scene, and in terms of the disturbance, at this point in time we are looking into the sequence of events that led up to the crash and may still be reaching out to witnesses,” APD media relations officer Art Stele said.

Those with information or CCTV footage of the incident are urged to contact the APD at 604-859-5225.
