Shots fired at basement suite of home in Abbotsford

Police are investigating an incident of shots being fired at a residence in Abbotsford early Monday morning (April 22).

Few details have been released at this time, but the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) has confirmed that they received a report at 2 a.m. of shots being heard on Sugarpine Street in central Abbotsford.

When police arrived, they could not find any indication of such activity. But it was determined later that day that shots had been fired into the basement suite of a residence in the 2500 block of Sugarpine Street. Nobody was injured.

Police say the incident is believed to be targeted.

Police are continuing to investigate, and no further details are being released at this time.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV footage of the area between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m. on April 22 is asked to contact the APD at 604-859-5225.
