Chilliwack RCMP investigators are seeking witnesses to the fatal crash that killed the driver of pickup truck in the Chilliwack River Valley.

“One person is sadly deceased, following a single-vehicle collision near Chilliwack Lake Road,” said B.C. RCMP communications.

Police received a report on Saturday, (Nov. 25) that a vehicle had gone “airborne” before crashing down on a residential property, killing the lone occupant.

Chilliwack RCMP, and emergency health services attended the crash scene, with the Chilliwack River Valley Fire Department personnel who attempted life-saving efforts at the scene, to no avail.

“Unfortunately, the driver and single-occupant of the vehicle was declared deceased.”

The single-vehicle crash may have involved a utility poll sheared off by the force of the impact, according to some reports.

A section of road was shut down for part of Sunday to allow investigators with Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) and the BC Coroners Service to complete their work but was reopened subsequently on Sunday afternoon.

“The Chilliwack RCMP would like to thank the public for the patience during the road closures.”

Any witnesses with information about this crash are asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP Detachment at 604-792-4611, and quote File # 2023-49587.
