A man has been charged with three child pornography offences in Abbotsford, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest after he failed to make a scheduled court appearance on Nov. 6.

Johann Scott Sveinsson has been charged with two counts of importing/distributing child porn in June 2022 and January 2023 and possession of child porn in May 2023, all in Abbotsford.

Const. Art Stele, media officer with the Abbotsford Police Department, said police began their investigation in March 2023 into a reported case of possession of child pornography associated to a local residence.

He said the major crime unit “through thorough and tireless investigative steps involving search warrants” was able to identify a suspect.

Stele said a summons listing the three offences was served to Sveinsson, but he failed to appear in court on his scheduled date.

Sveinsson’s Facebook page indicates that is originally from Reykjavik, Iceland and is a video editor.
