Impaired-driving charges laid in 2022 fatal crash in Abbotsford

Charges have been laid in relation to a 2022 fatal crash in Abbotsford.

According to court records, Harvey Dean Nokinsky, born in 1967, has been charged with impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death.

The crash took place Oct. 11, 2022 at the intersection of George Ferguson Way and Bourquin Crescent West in central Abbotsford.

The Abbotsford Police Department reported at the time that patrol officers came across the three-vehicle collision at 8:17 a.m.

One of the drivers had life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, where he died. The other people involved had injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police said the driver of the “offending vehicle” remained on scene, and that alcohol was believed to be a factor.

Nokinsky is scheduled to make his first appearance in Abbotsford provincial court on Nov. 20.
