Sandwich lovers will soon have a new option in Abbotsford.

Firehouse Subs is opening soon at 32500 South Fraser Way in the former Starbucks location.

It was announced in late-2023 that the brand would be expanding into several western Canadian markets and the Mission location opened in December.

According to information on Google, the Abbotsford location is scheduled to open on March 7.

Firehouse Subs offers a variety of hot specialty subs, salads, and other seasonal items. They also take inspiration from the firehouse with names like Hook & Ladder, Engineer, and Firehouse Hero.

The decor of the restaurant is firehouse inspired and often include firefighter equipment and memorabilia.

It was founded in 1994 in Florida and by 2012 there were more than 500 locations. The first Canadian location opened in Oshawa, Ont. in 2015. The company was purchased by Restaurant Brands International (who also own Burger King, Tim Hortons and Popeyes) in 2021.

There are future plans to expand to Europe, Mexico, the UK and the Middle East.

In addition to the Mission and Abbotsford locations, there is also a restaurant in Delta.
