Woodhouse Band to hit Twilight stage

Twilight Concert Series continues at Mission’s Fraser River Heritage Park

The Envision Twilight Concert Series continues tonight (June 14) from 7-8 p.m. as The Woodhouse Band performs at Mission’s Fraser River Heritage Park.

The Woodhouse Band features Mission natives Doug Emmott on guitar and Jackie Shirley on vocals.  Emmott’s jazz fusion guitar work and Shirley’s powerful vocals are complimented by drummer David Paunonen’s driving rhythms and bassist Mick Woodhouse’s punchy, lowdown lines.

The band plays a mix of R&B, soul, and funk covers, as well as original songs – all with great, danceable rhythms.

On Wednesday, June 19, also from 7-8 p.m., J.D. Miner will take to the Twilight stage.

J.D. Miner is a Canadian acoustic trio currently consisting of songwriter and multi instrumentalist Darryl Klassen, fiddle and mandolin wizard Chad Joiner, and tub-thumpin’ bassist Joe Worst. Their music is an eclectic collection of original jazzy tunes, ballads and  banjo tunes.
