Two men from Abbotsford are among those involved in the Vancouver Fringe Festival, which runs Sept. 4 to 14.
Actor Jordan Schartner (In photo below) is one of three leads in the production of The Good of the Sun, while singer-songwriter Bryan Binnema wrote all the music for the show The Chariot Cities.
Schartner has been acting professionally for 10 years and recently appeared on the TV shows Fringe and Once Upon a Time.
He also appears in the feature film Hector and the Search for Happiness.
Schartner is a graduate of the University of Alberta’s bachelor of fine arts acting program.
Binnema, who specializes in piano and keyboard, is currently recording a new EP and will be going to Humber College in Toronto this fall to continue his music studies.
He holds a diploma of music from Vancouver Community College.
Binnema divides his time playing solo gigs or as an accompanist for different vocalists, as well as writing his own material.
The Good of the Sun runs throughout the Fringe Festival at The Cultch, 1895 Venables St., and is a 1950s period piece that asks questions about modern relationships.
The Chariot Cities is inspired by the work and lives of musical families such as Canadian music legends the Wainwrights. It plays from Sept. 5 to 14 at the Revue Stage, 1601 Johnston St.
