The Sweeney Singers host a benefit concert on Friday in Abbotsford.

The Sweeney Singers will hold a benefit concert for South Sudan famine relief on Friday, June 16.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church (2777 Townline Rd.).

The Sweeney Singers are now in their 30th year of choral performance in the community. Their passion for singing and commitment to the Abbotsford community continues to be supported by enthusiastic audiences.

An award-winning ensemble, the Sweeney Singers excel in a diverse range of styles that include jazz, folk and classical.

This program will feature music from past concerts as well as new selections. They will welcome past members from Abbotsford and Australia to join the singers for several selections.

The group says the wonderful acoustics of St. James Church will complete an evening of superb choral entertainment.
