The North Poplar campus of Abbotsford School of the Integrated Arts holds a gala event on Saturday, Feb. 7.
The Poplar Gala takes place from 5 p.m. to midnight at the Abbotsford Arts Centre, 2329 Crescent Way.
Funds raised at the event will go toward the school’s new digital piano lab, where students can take piano lessons during artist-in-residence times and opt-in classes.
The gala includes an art battle at 5:30 p.m. in which artists and celebrity dignitaries will have a set amount of time to create an art piece, which will be auctioned off that night.
A four-course dinner begins at 6:30, followed by speeches and dancing. Also included are a jazz trio and an opera performance.
The evening has a black-and-white theme. Tickets are $80 or $600 for a table of eight.
