The Boneyard is a symbolic place for the faded memories of grandeur and fame that encompass Las Vegas.
It is a fitting end for these neon signs that, when the glittering lights go out they are sequestered away to a dusty lot on the way out to the desert. These signs are the discarded totems of our age and are a reflection of our vanities on which time takes its unrelenting toll.
Local artist Fiona Howarth has been an avid photographer for more than 10 years and has won numerous awards for her work. She has had formal training in photography with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Fraser Valley.
Her photographic aesthetic revolves around time, memory, and loss.
Her show, Boneyard, will run at the Fort Gallery from March 27 to April 14 with the opening reception on Friday, March 29 from 7-9 p.m.
Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday at 9048 Glover Road, Fort Langley.
