The Doxa Band presents a free worship event in Abbotsford on Sunday, Jan. 14.

The event takes place at 7 p.m. at Central Heights Church, 1661 McCallum Rd.

Doxa was a hugely popular worship event in the late 1990s and early 2000s, drawing 1,500 youth and young adults weekly from across the Fraser Valley and beyond.

Doxa leader Vijay Manuel said members of the original band will play a mix of old and new Christian worship songs. He said the focus will be “to give people a chance to worship God together and take that experience home with them to bless and encourage others.”

“There is a message of hope that is so desperately needed in our world today, and that’s what we’ll be focusing on through music,” Manuel said.

The band will be composed of five original members –Rick Enns (acoustic guitar), Jared Falk (drums), Dustin Freund (bass), Dan Kim (electric guitar), and Manuel (vocals and acoustic guitar).

Manuel’s university-aged children, Misha and Jada, will also join the band with vocals.
