The musical duo The Eisenhauers perform in Abbotsford on Sunday, May 14 as part of the launch of their debut album, The Road We Once Knew.

The performance takes place at Field House Brewing (2281 West Railway St.) from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

The Eisenhauers are a country-roots duo consisting of married couple Sheree Plett and Jeremy Eisehauer, who met while they were students at Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford.

The pair combine heartbreakingly sweet vocals and stirring harmonies with heart-rending string arrangements.

They spent some time in Kaslo, B.C. for Jeremy’s carpentry enterprise and merged their respective solo projects into a single act, deciding to try their hand at a more conventional music career.

So they went to Nashville to make a record with the go-to guy for great roots music – Steve Dawson – and they came away with a record deal with Dawson’s Black Hen label.

Their debut album is packed with all the stuff great southern roots is made of – authentic, down-home songs about family, rural life, and, yes, even church.

Sheree and Jeremy have toured across Canada four times as solo artists and western Canada at least 13 times.

Each time, they’d play the west-to-east leg of the tour as Sheree Plett and the return leg as Eisenhauer – each taking his/her turn backing the other on stage.

Their debut album as a pair was released April 21, and their current tour runs through August.
