Casting call for Robinson Crusoe play

Men aged 20 to 50 are invited to audition for the adventure-filled play Robinson Crusoe, with Gallery 7 hosting a casting call Nov. 16.

Men aged 20 to 50 are invited to audition for the adventure-filled play Robinson Crusoe, with Gallery 7 & Theatre Performing Arts hosting a casting call Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., actors can try out for this story of man shipwrecked on a deserted island after a violent storm.

After 26 years of living in isolation, Crusoe befriends a Caribe Indian, and in doing so, discovers the power of friendship and the value of acceptance despite differences.

“This production contains all the ingredients for a compelling and entertaining theatre experience and will provide actors with a unique and rewarding challenge,” said Ken Hildebrandt, Gallery 7 Theatre’s artistic director. “It explores faith, survival and friendship while delving in to the realities of what happens in the absence of community and social structure.”

The play runs Jan. 20-21, 26-28, and Feb. 2-4 at 7:30 p.m. with matinees on Jan. 21 and 28 at 2 p.m.

Rehearsals start Nov. 21 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Performances and practices are at the MEI Theatre, at 4081 Clearbrook Rd.
