Brushes and Lushes event supports Red Press Society

Arts fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 15 in Abbotsford

Memento Mori Studios in Abbotsford hosts a fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 15 in support of Red Press Society (RPS).

The Brushes and Lushes event runs from 7 to 9 p.m. at the studio, 2050 Sumas Way.

Participants can sip on wine or craft beer while they enjoy a step-by-step instruction by a local artist to create their own painting on canvas.

After the event, they can keep their painting or auction it off to further benefit RPS. The artist whose painting sells for the highest bid wins a gift card to Memento Mori Studios.

Tickets are $35 and are available at the studio or online at

RPS is a non-profit organization cultivating the cultural community in the Fraser Valley.

Formed in 2016 by writers, artists and musicians, Red Press’ first project is Raspberry magazine – a publication that enables local artists to share their work and the community to engage with local art and culture.
