Brothers who shot to fame with Jackson 5 song perform in Abbotsford

Melisizwe Brothers have performed on Ellen and America’s Got Talent

The Melisizwe Brothers from Edmonton, Alta., perform at the Abbotsford Arts Centre (2329 Crescent Way) on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.

The brothers Marc, 15, Seth, 12, and Zacary, 11, shot to fame after their popular video of The Jackson 5 song I’ll Be There gained more than 60 million views on YouTube.

They have been musical guests on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Steve Show, Little Big Shots UK, New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square, and America’s Got Talent season 13.

The brothers are unique in that Zacary, the youngest, is the lead vocalist, whose talent has been compared to the likes of Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.

All three brothers play multiple instruments.

Their musical journey started at the Leduc School of Music in Alberta, where they were fast-tracked into various music programs, studying piano and singing and then adding other instruments of interest.

They also collaborate with others in the music industry when they are not travelling around the world.

The Melisizwe Brothers perform a variety of music, both contemporary and older – most notably, the Motown hits of music giants like Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5.

Their concert in Abbotsford includes a performance of Heal the World with a local youth choir. They will also perform alongside a local dance group.

Tickets are $36 for adults and $32 for seniors and students.

They are available online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca or by calling 604-391-7469.
