Groove Force Productions presents Believe: A Christmas Spectacular for seven shows from Dec. 10 to 12 at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium in Abbotsford.

Artistic director Mary Boonstra, who was born and raised in Abbotsford, said it has always been her dream to bring a “powerhouse Christmas show ” to the community.

“I was hesitant to create a show during a pandemic, especially with the year that we have had – and especially more recently,” she said. “I really felt that the community of Abbotsford needed something to look forward to this holiday season.”

Believe follows the lives of two young girls, Jayne and Tiffani, as they become teens and then mothers.

Both girls are very different from each other and each realizes that the people in their lives who they need the most may or may not be there for them.

In the end, they end up finding each other in this heartwarming tale with a Christmas twist.

This includes the Metro Mile Shopping Centre Santa (played by retired Abbotsford Police sergeant Mike Powell), who is joined by Charlie the Announcer (played by Abbotsford Police Insp. Casey Vinet) in delivering Christmas messages to all that come and see him.

The messages are meant to carry the storyline between the two girls and engage all those in the mall in listening to what matters.

The show will also include some special aerial performers, a variety of dance numbers and a few surprises.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. each night, with additional performances at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 11 and 12. Tickets are available at eventbrite.ca or legacydanceproductions.ca.
