ASIA hosts Lion King

North Poplar Fine Arts is hosting The Lion King.  The musical will be performed by Kindergarten to Grade 5 students for two performances. The first show is tonight and the second show is tomorrow night. Both start at 6 p.m. and take place at the Abbotsford Arts Centre, 2329 Crescent Way.

WEDDING POSTPONED AT REACH

The Wedding Fashion Show, originally planned for May 18 at The Reach, has been postponed until later in the year. A new date will be announced soon.   The event is a co-production of The Reach, South Asian Peer Network Association (SAPNA) and the UFV fashion department. The Reach is currently seeking wedding outfits, for bride and groom, to be modeled at the show.  Garments must be in good condition and sturdy enough for modeling.  For more info, contact Kris Foulds at kfoulds@thereach.ca or call 604-864-8087 x116.

FREE ARTS WORKSHOP

On Saturday, May 21, the public is invited to experience an array of art making materials to learn which approach best suits their artistic muse. Aspiring artisans can sample from a variety of drawing mediums, acrylics, oils, or watercolors. No experience necessary. Materials provided. Doors open at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is required. Coffee and tea will be served. The studio is located at 200-2637 Montrose Ave., above Jake’s Barbershop and Just Ink. For more info, call 604-859-5357.

LIVING HISTORY

On May 19, at 6:30 p.m. The Reach, 32388 Veterans Way, will host historian and member of the Mennonite Historical Society, David Geisbrecht.
